When your website is up and running, looking good and attracting a bit of traffic and attention, it’s easy to “set it and forget it.” But you’re not truly competitive if you settle for the web presence that good enough. If you’re not regularly working on these things and continuously improving your digital presence to get a better result, you can be leaving a big chunk of money on the table.

Modern technology and marketing techniques make it easier to continually invest in your business to earn higher Return On Investment (ROI) even while you’re sleeping. There is a countless way that forward thinking like yours can boost web performance to obtain higher Search Engines ranking and attract more paying customers and initiate more referral businesses.

20 Dynamics Growth Strategies Totally Transform Your Business

1. Split Testing – Split testing involves setting up more than one landing page or user experience so you can test to see which performs better. This type of testing is important because it helps you continually improve your pages and increase conversions. By split testing, you may find that small tweaks can drastically improve the rate of page conversions, therefore increasing your number of leads and sales.

2. Visitor Recordings – You can see exactly what users are doing on your website by installing software like Hotjar that creates visitor recordings. Visitor recordings show how users interact with your website by capturing their on-site sessions. This allows you to see if users are noticing the important elements on your site and following the right path to do business with you. The intended use of your site may seem obvious to its creators, but visitor recordings reveal all the ways users fall off course and how to keep them on track.

3. HeatMap Tracking – Similar to visitor recordings, heatmaps also help you see how users interact with your site. Heatmap tracking software like Hotjar, tracks where users click on your website. It uses that information to create color-coded maps showing you which buttons and links get the most clicks, and how far users scroll down on your pages.

4. Google Analytics is a free software that connects with your website to collect important details about how users find and use your site. Through Google Analytics you can discover what pages on your site are the most popular, how longer users are staying on your site, and which web properties are sending you the most traffic. This information, along with dozens of other reports in Google Analytics, helps you see what is working on your site and where you can improve.

5. Google Search Console is another free tool offered by Google to help you perform better online. With the service, you submit your website’s URL to make sure Google can crawl and index your site. This increases your ability to perform well in search. Google Search Console also helps you monitor your site to make sure it’s properly optimized, and shows how your site appears on search engine result pages.

6. Analytics Reporting – Setting up Google Analytics isn’t enough to make a big difference in your website strategy. You need to review your data at least once a month to obtain actionable information and create new strategies. You should also check in on your Google Search Console data to make sure things are running smoothly and there aren’t errors with your site.

7. Website Speed – Website speed is the amount of time that it takes for your webpages to load. Website speed is important because it impacts both user experience and SEO. Users have short attention spans. If your website takes too long to load, they will click off the page. Search engines also use website speed as an SEO ranking factor. Slow sites that take more than two seconds to load may show lower in search rankings. You can check your speed using Google’s free PageSpeed Insight Tool or Pingdom. You can also use Google to test your website on mobile with their free “mobile friendly test”.

8. Blog – A blog is the part of your website that is regularly updated with fresh and new content. An active blog is how you build your site authority, attract customers, keep your audience engaged, and appeal to search engines. Blog content that shares insights and info about your industry and expertise shows potential clients and customers that you are a trustworthy authority. It engages readers and gives them a reason to return to your website. It also provides more content for search engines to crawl which improves your SEO, so you should publish 2 – 3 posts every week, if not at least once every week.

9. Keyword Research – Keyword research is a process to determine the best search ranking terms. Before you create a new webpage on your site, perform keyword research to determine the best variation of the search term to use. Ideally, you’ll use words that don’t have a lot of competition and match the terms your target audience types when searching for a business like yours. I am using Jaaxy Keyword Research Tool to do my keyword research for a particular content.

10. Backlinks – When other websites link to your website, it’s called a “backlink.” These links back to your site are extremely important for improving your SEO. The more websites that link back to your website, the more SEO authority your site will receive. Part of your digital marketing strategy should include regularly getting links back to your site so you can improve your ability to appears in search engine results. Make sure you avoid spammy backlinks or backlink from low authority sites.

11. SEO-Friendly Content– The content on your site is another important part of improving your SEO authority. Each page on your website should be optimized to appeal to search engine crawlers. Pages should have an identified keyword that is used in the page title, meta description, subheading, and naturally throughout the content. This tells search engines what the page is about and helps it appears in search engine results.

12. Email List Opt-In – Along with having a lead magnet on your site to collect email addresses, you also need a standard email list opt-in. This is a form that tells users that they can get more information about you and invites them to stay up-to- date with your blog and news by subscribing to your list. Converting visitors into “high value”, paying clients is the ultimate goal of any website. To optimize your website for email collection, keep it simple with a streamlined design, a single goal, and stripped-down features. You want to include a call-to-action form, pop-up, or link above the fold on your website and offer a valuable lead magnet in return.

I use Benchmark Email Tool to boost my e-mail capture conversion rates. Particularly useful are Content Upgrades and their List Builder so I can target specific articles with specific calls-to-action and bonuses. It’s an incredible combo with free 2 thousands plan. Check them out here.

13. Marketing Automation – Marketing automation is a process that turns a website and set of digital tools into a 24/7 salesperson. The process uses email marketing to provide a preset lead nurturing email series to prospects. You can even customize the process based on specific user actions. So if a prospect clicks on a link and shows interest in one product, they will receive an automated series related to that offering alone. Tools like Mailchimp, Aweber etc make it easy to create email marketing automation funnels that generate sales.

14. Leads – A website is truly working for a business when it regularly collects leads. More leads typically lead to more sales, so this type of website is a valuable business asset because it acts as an unpaid sales team. A website that is strategically set up should collect leads weekly. If you aren’t finding these results from your website, you need to readjust your content and marketing strategies using the tips mentioned here and in this list.

15. Custom Contact Form – As you collect leads from your website, you want to gather vital information that will help you qualify the lead. To do that, use custom contact forms for each of your products and services. By creating separate contact forms for each of your offerings, you collect information from the user that is unique to that product or service, giving you the data you need to turn the prospect into a sale.

16. Website Content Strategy – There are two types of websites. There are websites that strategically guide users toward a sale. These websites use content to educate, motivate, and guide users through the sales process. Then, there are the websites that don’t have a strategy. These websites use content as a basic online brochure or data sheet. They are not designed to initiate action or sales. For your website to bring in revenue, you need a website content strategy that is designed to direct users toward purchases, not just share basic information.

17. A/B Test Call-To-Actions -A call-to-action is the language on a website that tells a user to do something. This phrasing is important because it guides users through the actions you want them to take along the buyer’s journey. Without call-to-actions, users typically don’t know what to do and get lost. Call-to-actions are important, but they are not all created equal. It’s important to test your phrases to see which copy is better at driving users to take the next step in their journey to be working with you.

18. Mobile Responsive – More and more people are using their mobile devices to get information online. A mobile responsive website optimizes content display based on the user’s screen size, configuring the information so it is easier to read. This is important not only for user experience, but for SEO as well. Google has said that websites that are not mobile responsive will show lower search engine ranking on mobile devices — if they rank at all.

19. Lead Magnet – A lead magnet is an offer (such as a free eBook, PDF checklist, templates, exclusive guide, email training series, etc.) that you give away on your website in exchange for a user’s contact information. Lead magnets are vital for growing your customer base, as it gives audiences a good reason to give you their email address. When evaluating a compelling lead magnet idea, ask: Is it something my target audience would LOVE? Is it something I can distribute immediately upon sign-up, without much expense?

20. Social Media – Social Media platforms exist separately from your website, but Social media the two are very much tied together. You should use social media platforms as a way to spread your content, drive traffic, and attract new readers. Regularly share your content on social media and add buttons to your website that make it easy for readers to click to share the content for you. I use Semrush Tools – Social Media Tracker and Poster to keep track the performance of my social media campaign and automate post my content.

  2. Hey there,

I saw you that you mentioned Google Search Console and I just had to comment on it to show people how great of a tool it really is.

When I started my website, I really didn’t care about the tool and my posts would take weeks to get indexed by google, talk less of getting ranked.

But soon after I got an account of it and started letting Google know about my new posts, my posts have been ranking in 3 days and very well on the first few positions of Google.

Folks should consider the tool. It is really awesome!
